7 days / Yin Yoga Teacher Training

The practice of Yoga is a pathway to profound happiness and health and its aim is to cultivate a balance between all the facets that we are made of. Just like everything around us, our existence is defined by the interconnectedness of opposing aspects, we are Yin and we are Yang.

Yin Yoga is the complementing practice to the dynamic and muscular Yang yoga styles widely known in the West. Yin Yoga aims for the deeper layers of our body, working on the rejuvenation and mobility of our bones and all connective tissues. Yin Yoga is soft, still and nourishing, cultivating receptiveness and inward awareness. While holding poses for a longer period of time, this practice provides the opportunity for connecting with the innermost self and for releasing physical, emotional and mental tension. Yin Yoga as a distinct style has been coined in recent decades by Paul Grilley but its underlying concepts are rooted in the ancient philosophies of India and China evolving around the aspects of health and energy.

Yoga Nidra is the practice of yogic sleep, an ancient technique rooted in the Indian yogic philosophy and brought to light by yogic master Swami Satyananda Saraswati. Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation, in which the practitioner is lead to enter a state of deep physical relaxation while remaining in an awakened state of mind. In a different manner but yet with a similar aim as Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra aids to release tensions on a physical, emotional and mental level. Yet Yoga Nidra goes further and as release and relaxation is induced, it acts as a tool to restructure and reform our whole personality from within.

Yoga Nidra is a scientific method that allows deep healing and the awakening of our creative genius. It therefore makes a highly valuable addition to the teaching of Yin Yoga.
